CEO’s Message

Welcome to MHC Healthcare. My Team and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to all the services we offer at our 14 locations across Greater Tucson, Catalina, Picture Rocks and Marana. As the new CEO of MHC Healthcare, I invite you to take the opportunity to explore sections of our website. My involvement with MHC Healthcare began in April of 2013. My family and I relocated to the area and I am proud to be part of such an innovative organization. MHC is a proven champion for those with chronic diseases and for those who need behavioral health services. I have a personal understanding of the trials and challenges of those who must navigate the road of chronic disease. In 2012, my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. As a father and as the CEO of MHC Healthcare, I am here to bring the compassion, commitment and resources to the communities we serve.

My team and I are committed to providing quality care with dignity and compassion. Our goal is to provide affordable healthcare to all individuals in a comfortable and safe environment. MHC Healthcare strives to recruit the best medical providers, dentists, and behavioral health specialists available. We treat all patients with the same care and respect we expect for our own families.

MHC Healthcare is your community health center. If you are currently a patient of one of the 14 MHC Healthcare Centers, I thank you for selecting MHC to care for you and your family. If you are looking for qualified, skilled, and compassionate medical and behavioral health providers, I welcome you to select MHC Healthcare as your provider of choice. Our array of services is designed to be easily accessible to all, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. We are committed to be there when you need care.

Thank you for your interest in MHC Healthcare,

Clinton Kuntz
Chief Executive Officer

History

Nurse with patients at MHC 1957

MHC Healthcare is the oldest community health center, providing continuous health care since its incorporation in 1957. We began by providing medical care to migratory farm workers and other locals in Marana.

By 1964, we had the funds to build a clinic specifically for MHC Healthcare and doubled our staff. We then established our Sliding Fee Scale, making it possible to deliver healthcare to a wider population, especially low income and medically underserved patients.

In 1972, Marana was declared a Critical Health Manpower Shortage area and MHC signed an agreement with the National Health Services Corps to provide healthcare workers for our entire community. Just three years later in 1975, the University of Arizona Department of Family and Community Medicine awarded MHC Healthcare the Hill-Burton Grant, allowing us to substantially enlarge our clinic building. That was our main clinic for 36 years, until we moved into our current Marana Main Health Center in 2011.

Main Marana Healthcare Building

MHC Healthcare has grown to a network of 14 Health Centers, employs almost 400 staff, and serves over 40,000 patients. Our commitment and dedication to removing barriers towards healthcare services has allowed us to achieve and grow. We will be your healthcare provider for years to come.
