Provider Bio:
My passion for midwifery was sparked when I gave birth to my daughter in 2006. Her birth, attended by a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM), simply transformed me. The experience empowered me to apply to nursing school with the goal of becoming a CNM. I earned my bachelor’s in nursing from The University of Arizona in 2009, and my master’s degree from Frontier Nursing University in 2015 with a specialty in nurse-midwifery. In 2018 I earned my doctorate, again from Frontier Nursing University.
My primary professional goal is to expand midwifery options for women in Tucson. I am proud to have been the first CNM to practice at St Joseph’s Hospital in 25 years. As a CNM I offer full scope care, not just for pregnancy but also for general women’s health and wellness, including family planning. I am especially passionate about working with teens, both in pregnancy and for reproductive health and wellness.
I’m from Tucson, and I’m a die-hard Arizona Wildcats fan. I share my life with my awesome blacksmith husband, our two spirited daughters, and two tiny dogs. In my spare time you can find me crocheting, hiking, or watching football.
I believe in the inherent wisdom and strength of every woman. My role as a midwife is to support, guide, and advocate for you. I value pregnancy and birth as normal life processes. A woman’s birth experience can affect her life profoundly, and I aim to treat every woman with respect and compassion according to her unique needs and desires. It is truly a privilege and dream come true to serve women and their families as a nurse-midwife.
