Healthy Arizona Worksite Program Copper Level Award

MHC Healthcare has received the Healthy Arizona Worksite Program Copper level award for its wellness initiatives in the community, the Maricopa County Department of Public Health announced. The Healthy Arizona Worksite Program (HAWP) recognizes businesses that are making efforts to positively affect the health and well-being of their employees.

All organizations receiving awards were recognized at the Virtual Healthy Arizona Worksite annual event on June 11, 2020.

Well-being is one of the values of MHC Healthcare, and our facilities have benefited from the work of Amy McFarland, with the help and support of the HR Dept., Tamie Olson, CFO, and Clint Kuntz, CEO.

The group has worked to institute a series of initiatives to bring health and wellness to the forefront. The initiatives include a discount to either Anytime Fitness or the YWCA, smoking cessation assistance, blood pressure and cholesterol screening and education, skill development courses (offered through MHC Connect), health education and challenges through MHC’s Wellness Portal (corehealthylifestyle.com), and Financial Wellbeing Lunch and Learns, hosted by CBIZ Financial, Hughes Federal Credit Union, AZ Central Credit Union, and Wells Fargo. MHC also provides an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to all staff scheduled for at least 30 hours per week.

The Healthy Arizona Worksites Program is a public health initiative offered by the Arizona Department of Health Services and the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH). Its mission is to help employers learn how to successfully implement worksite wellness initiatives to improve the health of their employees and businesses.
